We Care for Our Society

Compassion is at the heart of everything Boehringer Ingelheim does.

We are driven by a desire to relieve pain, increase vitality and extend life. The therapies we develop improve the quality of life for millions; and while we take pride in that contribution, we never forget there is more we can and must do.

Caring for our society is a natural extension of our corporate culture of service: we encourage and support civic engagement through voter registration drives; we promote math and science education through events like the Science Horizons; our employees fulfill this mission in hundreds of ways through personal commitments to volunteerism.

Our values are the lifeblood of Boehringer Ingelheim, guiding decisions large and small. As a company about 40,000 people strong, we have the opportunity and the responsibility to have a positive impact on society. We aspire not only to treat chronic disease, but to address chronic social problems that also impact quality of life. Here are just a few examples:

Patient Assistance Program
A project of the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation, the Patient Assistance Program helps those in need to obtain products free of charge, providing millions of dollars of pharmaceutical products to eligible patients throughout the U.S. each year. The emphasis is on those who need it most, including senior citizens and families on limited incomes.

Worldwide Product Donations
Anywhere our products can relieve pain or improve life, Boehringer Ingelheim is there.  Through our charitable arm, the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation, we supply our products to qualified organizations around the globe: The Catholic Medical Mission Board, AmeriCares, Direct Relief International, MAP International and the National Children’s Cancer Society.

Raising Awareness and Funds for Sickle-Cell
Roxane Labs partnered with WBNS10 TV to sponsor a documentary about the disease of Sickle-Cell and its impact on the people of central Ohio. This was paired with a donation telethon during the broadcast staffed by employee volunteers.
